Your Monthly Horoscope
Astrology Basics:
At the moment you were born, the planets, the moon, the sun, and the star constellations that are the 12 signs of the Zodiac, were all in a specific place (whether it was daylight or night!). The same force (type of gravity) that holds the planets in their orbit around the sun, and which holds all the stars in their specific locations in our galaxy, effects you here on earth. The combined forces from all those bodies in the universe effect each of us on the earth in a very real and significant way. All of those forces also effect each other, depending on the angle at which they meet and depending upon the way that the qualities of each universal body interact with the other, which then effects you in a particular way.
The way these forces are aligned with each other, and their nearness to you at the moment of your birth, determine what your basic personality is like – the framework of who you are, by which everything else you experience after that moment will be measured. These forces determine how you will be inclined to perceive your world and react to your world, in other words they determine the framework of your personality.
You still have absolute free will, given to you by the Creator, so you can be whoever you want to be. Astrology helps you see and understand your basic personality makeup, so that you can use that information to see and experience your hidden talents, see what motivates you in order to use that knowledge to lead you to fulfillment, and see how to overcome whatever weakness or self-doubt you may have.

The Lunar Eclipse that arrives on the 27th is also extremely potent, and may also signal another opportunity in coming weeks to focus even more completely on inner work.

As the summer continues, Gemini, the transformational beat from July still goes on. Uranus in your sign is more prominent than ever, with indications that are confronting and yet also beneficial. Novel ideas might come fast and furious, and in the light of previous tradition might feel like too big a step away from everything that you have preciously accorded with, and recognized, and yet on reflection prove liberating. These conundrums do not however yield to any automatic choice of either acceptance or rejection, since it is all ultimately up to you and your own evolving understanding of your own inner principles and beliefs. Chiron, known as the Wounded Healer, could reveal anxieties surrounding friendships or belonging, while Haumea may encourage a renewal of emotional depth regarding your creativity through vulnerability and truth. Mars in your first sector of Self and ruling your tenth sector of vocation, is trine to both the North Node and Haumea – encouraging the initiative to strengthen both your career path and your closest emotional bonds. Choosing honestly in your dealings could ultimately open doors you’re ready to walk through. Emotional breakthrough and psychological healing are available as you navigate this complex eclipse energy!
Mercury Conjunct Jupiter – August 14th – 15th
A profitable idea, an exciting financial opportunity or a shift in perspective that allows you to feel more valuable could capture your attention as Mercury joins Jupiter in your second sector of resources and worth. You may feel more confident asking for what you’re worth, expanding a source of income, or investing your time and energy into what brings the greatest return.
Sun Enters Virgo – August 22nd
Confidence may grow through learning, speaking, and sharing what you know. Virgo season invites you to sharpen your thinking by asking better questions, paying closer attention to the details, and becoming more selective about the information, advice, and opinions you choose to ingest. The moment Virgo season begins, Venus opposes Saturn, making it more difficult to fully enjoy the comfort of home or family life as career demands or public obligations take priority. Around August 27th, unexpected realizations about your fears or self-doubt could reshape your perspective, helping you break free from unconscious patterns that may have been influencing your thoughts and decisions.
Mercury Enters Virgo – August 25th
Your mind may feel especially sharp as Mercury enters Virgo, helping you think, communicate, and learn more effectively. This is an excellent time to study, write, teach, or tackle projects that require careful analysis. You’ll likely feel more articulate, organized, and discerning, making it easier to communicate your ideas and separate useful information from unnecessary noise.
Lunar Eclipse in Pisces – August 27th
A journey — whether physical, intellectual, or spiritual — may reach a meaningful milestone under this Pisces Lunar Eclipse. This eclipse could coincide with important developments involving your beliefs and worldview, also travel, education, publishing, legal matters. Rather than bringing a sense of completion, this eclipse may leave you feeling increasingly drawn toward what’s next, awakening a desire to keep growing even as one chapter might be coming to an end. Interestingly, leading into the eclipse, Mercury joins the Sun in Virgo, sharpening your judgment and enhancing your ability to think, communicate, and discern. Uranus, squaring the Sun, only amplifies the unpredictable nature of these times. Uranus residing in your twelfth sector of the unconscious and hidden, implies there could be unexpected insights or even vivid dreams capable of shifting your perspective. Even with greater discernment and access to unconscious breakthroughs, the yod formed to the Sun from Neptune and Pluto shows potential difficulty in marrying how you communicate with your professional dreams, within your community, and how you’d like to transform your relationship with greater intimacy, trust, or sharing of resources.
This is another doozy of a month, Leo, especially for you! This is referenced in the Full Moon of July 29th, just as the August month gets started, which featured the Sun and Jupiter in your sign opposed to the Moon and transformational Pluto in Aquarius, your opposite sign, or your seventh sector of partnership interaction, signifying a strong relationship focus for the first half of August, with more to come, and with huge changes potentially in store. The July Cancer lunation cycle was already gearing you up for inner work, as signaled by the Sun, Moon, and retrograde Mercury all within a few degrees in your twelfth solar sector of unconscious process and internal discovery. Mercury Retrograde from back then has represented a way of touring your own internal world, the unseen layers of your psyche where hidden complexes may dwell. This is background for the current month of continuing transformation of your relationships, and with regard to your own evolutionary development. You may be reaching for new levels of integration and self-recognition, taking into account as well key existing or upcoming relationships, grist for your mill of refinement for your sense of purpose, as you can take the dive to the inside. The Solar Eclipse New Moon of the 12th is extremely powerful, and continues the focus on inner work, with Mars sextile Chiron at 0° Taurus; also with both Mercury in your sign, at 5°, and Venus in Libra, also at 5°, making close aspects to the outer planet placements of Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto, near 4° of their respective signs. This is a heady and body-oriented stew, with a grand cross in Fixed signs like yours, featuring Mercury opposed to Pluto, both in square to Chiron, the Wounded Healer, newly entered into Taurus, opposite Haumea, the new Nature planet signifying internal moral compass, at 2° Scorpio. In the Solar Eclipse there is also a grand trine in Air, with Venus, ruler of your career sector, trine Trickster Uranus and transformative Pluto. This all represents a power that cannot be understated. August ends with a Lunar Eclipse in your sector of intimacy and evolution, which continues the themes of partners and your own individual progress into the following month, and, indeed, into the remainder of this climactic year.

Previous New Moon in Cancer – July 14th
The quiet chapter that began with July’s New Moon continues its thirty-day cycle over the current month’s first third. Within your twelfth sector of solitude, restriction, and self-undoing, the Cancer New Moon still nudges you to better understand any fears, doubts, or habits that may have been holding you back. Sitting with old memories, emotional conditioning, or the roots of your inner dialogue may be the very thing that lets you move ahead. In the background, the outer planets remain in positive synchronicity. Uranus energizes your friendships and long-range hopes, Neptune enriches your beliefs and sense of the wider world, while Pluto, potently angular, keeps working a deeper change through your closest relationships.
Sun Trine Saturn – August 4th – 8th
Your words, mind and local environment interactions may turn honeyed now! Conversations could flow more easily, a sibling or neighbor could feel lovelier to be around, and light exchanges take on extra pleasure. In her opening days, Venus opposes Neptune, which can romanticize a belief, a faraway place, or a teacher and blur what’s real against what you wish to be true—a grand idea might charm you more than it should. Alongside this, trines to Uranus and Pluto keep things sociable and deep. A delightful new friendship could form, while an important partnership could grow richer and more powerful.
Venus Enters Libra – August 6th
Your words, mind and local environment interactions may turn honeyed now! Conversations could flow more easily, a sibling or neighbor could feel lovelier to be around, and light exchanges — a message, a flirtation, a good chat — take on extra pleasure. In her opening days, Venus opposes Neptune, which can romanticize a belief, a faraway place, or a teacher and blur what’s real against what you wish were true — a grand idea might charm you more than it should. Alongside this, trines to Uranus and Pluto keep things sociable and deep. A delightful new friendship could form, while an important partnership could grow richer and more powerful.
Mercury Enters Leo – August 9th
You may be more chatty, sociable, or eager to quickly share new ideas as Mercury resides in your first sector of self and identity in your sign, Leo. Life can naturally become busier as new curiosities spark your interest and the urge to be more mobile could be felt. During the first week, however, a relationship or important interaction may prompt you to think more deeply about who you are becoming while quietly stirring insecurities surrounding recognition, your career, or stepping into greater visibility.
Mars Enters Cancer – August 11th
You may slow down and spend more time behind the scenes as Mars enters your twelfth sector of retreat and hidden matters. Although it may feel challenging to get the most out of your alone time, you can still use it to cut out a few inner fears and tend to inner frustrations. During Mars’ first few days in Cancer, uplifting conversations or time spent locally may offer comfort as uncertainty surrounding your worldview or beliefs could leave you searching for answers. Yet being willing to share your insecurities may ultimately strengthen your confidence and sense of purpose.
Solar Eclipse in Leo – August 12th
The New Moon, or Solar, Eclipse in your sign — Leo — could mark the beginning of an entirely new chapter of self-discovery and individual expression! Falling within your first sector of self, and alongside the South Node, this eclipse might encourage you to let go of identities you’ve outgrown, old habits, or familiar ways of presenting yourself — making room for a more authentic expression of who you’re becoming. The grand cross involved in this eclipse may reveal the tension between your sense of independence, your relationships, public responsibilities, and duties to home or family. Mercury and Pluto in opposition may prompt intense discussions or inner dialogue that transform the way you see yourself through the mirror of your partnerships. Chiron, the Wounded Healer, could make self-doubt surrounding your reputation, achievements, or the pressure to meet others’ expectations more difficult to ignore, while Haumea encourages emotional renewal by strengthening your sense of home, belonging, and inner security. Although much of this eclipse lies in highly visible sectors, Mars is accomplishing important work behind the scenes while also influencing your emotional inner world. Its supportive trines to both Haumea and the North Node suggest that private healing, honest reflection, or releasing old emotional burdens may become the very foundation from which your next chapter naturally unfolds!
Mercury Conjunct Jupiter – August 14th – 15th
You may feel more confident in your ideas, your voice, and the way you present yourself as Mercury joins Jupiter in your first sector of the self, identity and self-image. This blessed alignment supports you to think bigger, trust your intellect, and share your wisdom with others. You may naturally step into the role of a teacher, mentor, or guide—but be mindful of speaking over others or assuming your perspective is the only one worth hearing.
Sun Enters Virgo – August 22nd
Virgo season brings greater awareness to your resources, values, and the ways you can support yourself with more confidence. Managing your resources more intentionally, making sound financial decisions, or becoming more selective about where your time, energy, and money go. The moment Virgo season begins, Venus opposes Saturn, likely making it harder to allow your mind to happily wander, as you may need to master a skill or subject now. Your mind could feel heavier, requiring focus and discipline. During the second week of Virgo season, an unexpected shift in your long-term goals or social circle could challenge your sense of security.
Mercury Enters Virgo – August 25th
Mercury enters Virgo, encouraging a more thoughtful and practical approach to your finances and personal resources. You may become more aware of where your time, energy, and money are best invested, making it easier to eliminate unnecessary expenses and recognize opportunities to make better use of your talents.
Lunar Eclipse in Pisces – August 27th
The Lunar Eclipse Full Moon in Pisces may bring powerful emotions surrounding trust, vulnerability, shared resources, or your deepest emotional bonds. Landing in your eighth sector of intimacy and personal evolution, this eclipse could coincide with both beginnings and endings related to these subjects or what could occur may be an emotional release that changes the way you approach close connection, loss, or transformation. With the North Node alongside this eclipse, you might desire to build relationships and financial arrangements founded on greater honesty and mutual support. Uniquely, this potent lunation happens immediately after a Mercury Cazimi, bringing welcome clarity to your values, personal finances, or sense of self-worth. A Yod focused on the Sun from Pluto, and Neptune forms part of this eclipse story. As you become clearer about what — and who — you truly value, important relationships may ask for greater honesty and depth, while changing beliefs or a shifting worldview could make it difficult to feel completely certain about what deserves your time, energy, and investment. Uranus is also squaring this Sun, inciting unanticipated shifts involving friendships, collaborations, or your long-term objectives. This could be instigating the sense it may be time to rethink where your future is leading and who to surround yourself with.
This August month is another extremely volatile one, Virgo, especially with regard to the configuration of Mercury, your sign’s ruler, in the various lunations that describe the current astrology. For one thing, while Mercury is now direct as August begins, in the recent mid-July New Moon that still conditions the first eleven days of the current month it was retrograde and close to Sun and Moon in your social sector. This gives greater prominence to friendships and group affiliations that you favor as you continue the review and revisioning of their import in your life. At the timing of the very powerful New Moon and Solar Eclipse on August 12th, the impact of which cannot be overstated, your ruler Mercury lies at 5° Leo, opposed to Pluto and trine Neptune for transpersonal effects. It might be that your habitual everyday behaviors are shifting in ways that allow you to grow and expand by discarding certain limiting preconceptions or behavior patterns, adopting more idealized relationship rules, or allowing greater compassion in your dealing with others. A profound shift is in the works within you, and it partakes of what is here and now, as part of the physical 3D world that surrounds you, and also of what is distinctly beyond the physical. The fact that Venus, too, lies at the 5° mark of her own sign of Libra in this eclipse configuration resonates with Mercury’s position there, and reinforces the emphasis on these same outer planets since Venus is opposed to Neptune and trine Pluto. On August 27th, the 4° Pisces Lunar Eclipse and Full Moon in your opposite sign makes a yod from Pluto and Neptune to the Sun in your sign, so that this is another powerful eclipse that will shake things up – hopefully for good eventual effect. Venus, occupying your sector of resources and values, is in aspect to Pluto and also Uranus in this second eclipse, so that Venus adds quite an extra charge to the plethora of energy in these potent and long-lasting lunations.

Previous New Moon in Cancer – July 14th
Where your life is headed — plus who’s walking that road with you — may feel open to revision through the first half of August, as the lunation cycle from the recent mid-July New Moon could presage. The Cancer New Moon from last month continues to give life to your eleventh sector, drawing you toward nourishing friendships, long-term hopes, and the communities that make you feel part of something larger that yourself. Before charging toward the next goal, though, the recent Mercury retrograde — your ruling planet — is asking you to look back before moving forward: unfinished dreams, people you once built things with, or ambitions you quietly shelved. Wandering back through them may point to what your future has been missing. The outer planes were all emphasized, continuing into all of the present month. Uranus sits angular at the peak of your chart, where it could shake loose something unexpected in your career or public standing. Neptune blurs the boundaries around intimacy and shared resources, while Pluto intensifies your creativity, romantic inclinations, and yearning for pleasure.
Sun Trine Saturn – August 4th – 8th
This could be a deeply reflective little stretch, and a surprisingly productive one. As the Sun makes you more conscious of your fears and the ways you may hold yourself back, you could easily find them easier to face as the Sun trines Saturn! That inner self-awareness supports Saturn’s push to handle intimacy, shared resources, and even crisis with more maturity. Making peace with old defenses could deepen closeness in a lasting way—and you might even receive money through a loss or ending, or move through grief with more grace.
Venus Enters Libra – August 6th
Money may come a little more easily now, as Venus lifts your sense of self-worth and predicts the ability to receive more easily. You might feel more comfortable charging your full rate, asking for more, or simply noticing that income arrives with less strain. It’s well-timed, too—your career or vocation is likely shifting, and the trines to Uranus and Pluto connect that change to a genuine evolution in how you work day-to-day! The ease Venus brings could point you toward smarter, more sustainable ways to make a living. Simultaneously, Venus opposes Neptune, which can blur the money picture temporarily—you might grow hazy about combining finances with someone, overspend, or overestimate just how much you deserve.
Mercury Enters Leo – August 9th
As your ruling planet, Mercury, moves through your twelfth sector of rest, reflection, and the unconscious while approaching Jupiter, you may feel drawn to spend more time processing your thoughts, trusting your intuition, or making sense of recent experiences. Quiet breakthroughs or private conversations could bring a welcome sense of peace and perspective. During the first week, however, changing responsibilities or an important development at work may become difficult to ignore, prompting you to question your future direction, long-held beliefs, or whether you’re pursuing the path that’s truly right for you.
Mars Enters Cancer – August 11th
You may feel compelled to confront tensions within your friendships or community while pushing harder toward your long-term goals as Mars enters your eleventh sector of community, friendships, and aspirations. During Mars’ first few days in Cancer, blurred expectations surrounding shared finances or trust may leave you second-guessing your next move, even as you’re eager to enjoy the resources you have. Allowing yourself to learn as you go may strengthen your confidence in the road ahead.
Solar Eclipse in Leo – August 12th
The Solar Eclipse New Moon in Leo could mark the beginning of a deeply transformative chapter. Occurring in your twelfth sector of unconscious process and inner work alongside the South Node, this eclipse may coincide with the shedding of buried patterns, hidden fears, or ways in which you’ve unknowingly worked against yourself — making room for a new understanding of the dark places within you. The grand cross involved in this eclipse highlights the potential strain between your need for solitude or alone time, versus your daily responsibilities, the way you think, and the beliefs you hold. Mercury and Pluto in opposition could prompt important decisions or intense reflection surrounding your work, routines, or health, making it increasingly difficult to separate your professional direction from your psychological wellbeing. As the ruler of both your first and tenth sectors, the fact that Mercury plays an especially significant role in this eclipse really matters and suggests that these inner sorts of shifts could ultimately reshape both your identity and life path. Chiron, the Wounded Healer, could bring up any doubts you have about your beliefs, education, or the confidence in your own perspective, while the new Nature planet Haumea supports the birth of a new way of thinking, communicating, and approaching your everyday life. Additionally, Venus’ trine to both Pluto and Uranus supports you, as your view on daily duties and career are rapidly altering, to being prioritizing your self-worth.
Mercury Conjunct Jupiter – August 14th – 15th
A spiritual insight or newfound sense of faith could greatly capture your attention as Mercury, your planetary ruler, joins Jupiter in your twelfth sector of the unconscious, inner work, and retreat. With these curious planets working together, you’re supported in exploring your typically hidden thought patterns with greater curiosity and compassion, helping you uncover self-limiting motivations or fears. While some discoveries may feel uncomfortable at first, they may offer a powerful opportunity for healing, closure, and personal growth.
Sun Enters Virgo – August 22nd
Virgo Season is all about you, bringing greater self-awareness and possibly a clearer sense of who you are. You could feel increasingly confident in the direction you’re heading as you make meaningful adjustments to your approach to life. The moment Virgo Season begins, Venus opposes Saturn, likely placing financial limitations on your ability to indulge or spend freely. Around August 27th, an unexpected career opportunity, change in direction, or public recognition could challenge your sense of identity.
Mercury Enters Virgo – August 25th
Life may be especially busy, yet flow somewhat smoothly as Mercury (your ruling planet) enters your sign, and it’s home sign of Virgo! You’ll likely be more decisive, articulate, and confident in your judgment, making it easier to tackle important decisions, solve problems, and trust yourself. You could be more curious, social and craving of movement as well!
Lunar Eclipse in Pisces – August 27th
Relationships of all kinds may enter a meaningful new chapter under this deeply feeling Pisces Lunar Eclipse and Full Moon. Occurring within your seventh sector of partnership and relationship, this eclipse could coincide with major beginnings and endings involving marriage, dating, business partnerships, clients, or other one-on-one commitments. While one dynamic may be evolving, the North Node leaves you feeling inspired to cultivate stronger, more growth-oriented connections moving forward. Adding another layer to this eclipse, it follows immediately after a Mercury Cazimi in Virgo, offering sharper insight into your identity, personal priorities, appearance, or the direction you’d like your life to take. You may better recognize what feels authentic, communicate your needs with greater confidence, and make decisions that genuinely reflect who you’re becoming. At the same time, Uranus squares both the Sun and this eclipse from your tenth sector of public life, suggesting that unexpected developments involving your career, reputation, or professional direction could simultaneously reshape your sense of self and the dynamics within your closest relationships. Lastly, a Yod to the Sun, from Pluto and Neptune, adds another layer to this eclipse. As your sense of self becomes more clearly defined, changing work responsibilities and new developments involving trust, intimacy, or shared resources could make it difficult to remain exactly as you are.
The is another extremely exciting and transformationally oriented month for you, Libra, almost like a cartoon where the potent just-passed July month is thumbing its nose to you and saying “you ain’t seen nothing yet!” This is based on the entrance of your ruler, Venus, into your sign in the month’s first week, which speaks to you of identity issues and question marks in the early going, followed by a dynamite second half. The very potent Solar Eclipse New Moon of August 12th sees Venus at 5° of your Libra sign in close opposition to Neptune in Aries and in trine with Pluto at a similar degree of Aquarius, so that these outer planet archetypes are beaming in on your evolutionary process to an inordinate degree. This represents transformational indications that can be ignored for only so long without the consequences showing up in the events of your life. Better by far to accept the simple fact of the matter that certain things in your situation are inevitably changing, and in the direction of greater understanding of what you are actually up to in this lifetime, and at this juncture. The Venus opposition to Neptune brings up both compassion and transpersonal attitudes beyond the simple-minded 3D physical world, prompting you to acknowledge that physical realities are only part of the story. This could refer to key partnerships, which could seem confusing or idealized, as well as to your relationship dynamic in general. Then, too, with Pluto so highly activated in your sector of creative self-expression and romance, it is likely that you are seeing the gradual metamorphosis in these areas hitting some new peaks, calling out for commitment to major change. This applies to your self-image in general st these potent timing. Finally, and not to be taken lightly, Venus is precisely same-degree sextile to Uranus located in Gemini, corresponding to your sector of higher mind, referencing your evolving beliefs and worldview, and signaling revelations there, or perhaps unexpected events o remind you of shifting points of view that provide intuitional information that, rather than overlooked, must be absorbed in some way. As the month winds down, the Lunar Eclipse of the 27th represents another reminder that surface happenings and ideas are balanced by what is taking place deep inside you, and which might indeed be the more significant of your ongoing developmental activities.

Previous New Moon in Cancer – July 14th
The recent Cancer New Moon in your tenth sector of vocation has perhaps opened a new phase for your career and reputation. The lunation cycle that was begun in mid-July still has eleven days to run, so that your professional life and public standing are still in focus and up for review or change over the first third of this month. This New Moon being closely tied to Mercury retrograde implies that instead of reaching for new opportunities, you may be engaged in a process of looking back first and could find yourself mulling over the decisions and assumptions that have led you to where you are now. Beneath these questions, a supportive thread additionally ties Uranus to Neptune and Pluto, suggesting that an evolving worldview or fresh perspective could breathe new energy into your closest partnerships and your creative, romantic self-expression as you sort out what comes next.

This Solar Eclipse New Moon may bring significant turning points or unanticipated reveals! Falling in your eleventh sector of social connections and future goals alongside the South Node, this heart-led Leo energy could coincide with the potent release of outdated friendships and a recognition of how your dreams for the future are evolving! There is a grand cross involved in this eclipse configuration when you include new Nature planet Haumea, at 2° Scorpio, opposite Chiron, the Wounded Healer, at the beginning of Taurus, and this inherent tension could expose the hidden links or conflicts between your friendships, your connection to joy, your self-worth, and your psychological patterns — revealing that one area cannot evolve without these others changing as well. Old fears surrounding trust, intimacy, or relying on others could become more noticeable due to prominent Chiron, while Haumea could encourage an ongoing renewal around your sense of worth and core values. Mars, prominently placed in your vocational sector plus ruling your seventh sector of relationships, is beautifully supported by both the North Node and Haumea, suggesting an important or professional partnership may become the catalyst for positive change in how you value yourself and your self-expression. With Venus now traveling through your first sector, relationships are potentially at the front of your awareness, and this getting help from Uranus and Pluto: as your perspective expands, so too might your capacity for love, creativity, and authentic self-expression.

As Mercury and Jupiter join forces, you’re encouraged to think bigger, share your ideas, and nurture meaningful connections. Someone in your community may offer the encouragement needed to take the next step toward your goals.

The Virgo sign corresponds to your twelfth sector of unconscious process and inner work, so that Virgo season could make the unconscious more conscious, bringing hidden patterns, fears, or habits to the surface! You may feel called to slow down, rest, and tie up loose ends before your birthday season begins. Venus opposes Saturn during the first few days of this new season, likely creating tension between your personal needs and the expectations of others – or you recognize that you feel a relationship is self-limiting. Then about a week later, new information about your beliefs, travel plans, or studies could disrupt your urge to retreat.
Mercury Enters Virgo – August 25th

You may begin connecting dots that once felt unrelated, gaining new perspective on situations that have been difficult to understand. Reflection, research, and behind-the-scenes planning could prove especially worthwhile, helping you prepare for what’s next with a clearer sense of direction.
Lunar Eclipse in Pisces – August 27th

It could coincide with meaningful developments involving your work, health, obligations, or the ways in which you care for yourself and others. Uranus, squaring the Sun from your ninth sector, introduces an element of surprise and destabilization — manifesting as sudden shifts involving your beliefs, or travel, education, perhaps legal matters! Also, just a few hours before the eclipse, Mercury joins the Sun in Virgo in a Cazimi, making it easier to recognize unconscious habits, hidden fears, or patterns of self-sabotage. And this is especially useful since a yod forms to the Virgo Sun, from Neptune in your seventh sector of others and Pluto in your fifth sector of joy and creation. Your private realizations could begin reshaping how you feel about key relationships while also changing how you’d like to express yourself more powerfully.
Scorpio Horoscope August 2026
SCORPIO (Oct 23 - Nov 21) Water. Ruling Planets Mars, Pluto
This is another absolute doozy of a month for you, Scorpio. Starting with the inherited astrology of July, good for also the first eleven days of August, which emphasized your higher mind sector of your beliefs and worldview; it has had you reviewing and re-thinking everything in those realms of evolving perspective. The recent Full Moon in Aquarius conjunct Pluto there, representing your home and family and the very roots of your being, all in sime form of flux, also triggers issues of relationship connection in some quite specific ways that have many different faces that they show. This evolution of inner Self continues after the August 12th Solar Eclipse and New Moon, which again emphasizes Pluto, opposed by Venus, ruler of your relationship sector. This signifies transformative partnership events as well as changes in the way you see the impact of these upon your life path. Mars, your traditional ruler, is at the very beginning of Cancer, sextile to Chiron, the Wounded Healer, at 0° Taurus. Chiron reminds us of where we have been burying away the residue of childhood trauma, where these can fester and manifest as hidden unconscious material that can sometimes take you over and challenge you to learn how to detach from these secret complexes. You benefit from trying for peaceful coordination with them, allowing the light of day to make for greater awareness and healing of these issues. There is in fact in this eclipse configuration a grand cross in Fixed signs like yours, involving Chiron, Mercury at 5° of Leo, in your vocational sector, the new Nature planet Haumea at 2° of your sign, and Pluto in Aquarius. Haumea comes with an inner mandate to observe respect for Nature and for natural law within each of us that truth, as we know it, is better than falsehood, and kindness better than exclusion. This New Moon eclipse is packed with energy and is an urgent and inescapable call to become more of your perfect, wild, true self as you ride the waves of this complex and powerful year.

Previous New Moon in Cancer – July 14th
There’s a pull toward growth this month — a hunger to see more of the world, deepen your faith, or chase down knowledge you can eventually pass to others. Having landed in your ninth sector and flowing easily to sensitive points in your own sign, the Cancer New Moon initiated a lunation sector that colors the first eleven days of the current month. This can continue to warm your emotional ties to the bigger picture and help you sense what actually moves and motivates you. Mercury retrograde was part of this New Moon so that even into August you might keep circling back to convictions, formative experiences, or a philosophy you thought was settled. It could be that the insight your next journey asks for is hiding somewhere you’ve already traveled. Underpinning all of this, Pluto sits angular in your home and family sector, where deep change could well be stirring at your emotional roots, while Neptune lends a softer, more intuitive tone to your daily work, health, and habits. Uranus could represent surprises through areas such as partners, shared finances or intimate bonds.
Sun Trine Saturn – August 4th – 8th
How you’re seen and where your life is headed could come into sharp focus now. As the Sun spotlights your public standing, reputation, and sense of direction, you might feel a renewed drive to be recognized for your contributions, career related or other-wise. A momentum builds as the Sun trines Saturn, supporting you to build the disciplined routines, healthier habits, and steady day-to-day effort that gradually carry you there. The small things you do daily could shape the bigger picture more than you’d think!
Venus Enters Libra – August 6th
Venus draws you inward now, softening the harder edges of your unconscious mind and inviting a gentler self-compassion around inner work. You might crave solitude — time to make peace with old fears, retreat from the public eye, or pour yourself into a healing or spiritual project, where even making art becomes a form of repair. Her opposition to Neptune, in these opening days, can make the workplace feel foggy or draining, strengthening the pull to withdraw and restore. And, rose-colored glasses could gloss over what your routines or coworkers actually need. Thankfully, trines to Uranus and Pluto support a tender, deep reworking of how you process pain and hold intimacy with yourself, which can help you release emotional patterns that have outlived their use.
Mercury Enters Leo – August 9th
Your ideas and expertise may receive more attention than usual as Mercury inches towards Jupiter, in Leo, in your tenth sector of career and public reputation. Important conversations, announcements, or positive developments may leave you feeling optimistic about where your ambitions are leading! But at the start of Mercury in Leo, emotional revelations or developments at home or within your family may also complicate professional plans, highlighting insecurities surrounding a relationship or whether an important partnership is growing alongside your ambitions.
Mars Enters Cancer – August 11th
You may feel you have to defend your beliefs, challenge a teacher or you could feel rushed or frustrated while pursuing an educational goal as Mars travels through Cancer. During Mars’ first few days in this sensitive and protective sign, confusing work demands or an inconsistent routine may leave you craving solitude, rest, or a chance to recharge. Allowing yourself be seen and deeply understood within important relationships can provide some solace during this potentially irritating short phase.
Solar Eclipse in Leo – August 12th
The New Moon Solar Eclipse in Leo could mark the beginning of an important new professional chapter. Taking place in your tenth sector alongside the South Node, this eclipse could coincide with major beginnings and endings involving your career, public role, or the legacy you’d like to leave behind. The grand cross involved in this eclipse emphasizes the competing demands between your career, home life, identity, and close relationships. Mercury and Pluto in opposition may prompt pivotal career or family decisions, making it increasingly difficult to separate your public responsibilities from your private life. At the same time, Chiron could bring up doubts or old wounds about your closest relationships or your ability to rely on others, while Haumea supports the birth of a stronger, more authentic sense of self. The squares formed throughout this grand cross suggest that progress in one area may temporarily require adjustments in another, encouraging different parts of your life to find a healthier way of working together. As your chart ruler, Mars plays an important role in this eclipse configuration. Located in early Cancer, Mars forms supportive aspects to Chiron, Haumea, and the North Node, suggesting that broadening your perspective, embracing new experiences, or pursuing greater understanding may strengthen both your relationships and your confidence as this next chapter begins.
Mercury Conjunct Jupiter – August 14th – 15th
Recognition for your ideas or expertise could elevate your public profile as Mercury joins Jupiter in your tenth sector of career, reputation, and achievement. This inspiring influence encourages you to think bigger about your professional path by teaching, publishing, traveling, or stepping into a leadership role. The conversations you have now could strengthen your credibility and lead to well-earned recognition.
Sun Enters Virgo – August 22nd
Virgo season illuminates your friendship dynamics, sense of community, and big dreams. You could feel more hopeful about the future as you become increasingly selective about the people and opportunities you give your energy to! Venus opposes Saturn during the first few days of this new season, likely making work feel heavier or limiting the time and energy you have for rest. Around August 27th, with the Lunar Eclipse, new information about shared finances, debts, or even intimacy could feel disruptive to your long-term plans — or perhaps a realization around an emotional entanglement feeds your current affinity for being selective around friends.
Mercury Enters Virgo – August 25th
While Mercury travels through Virgo, this is an excellent time to connect with like-minded people and strengthen relationships built on shared goals. Conversations may spark practical collaborations, mutually beneficial agreements, or introductions that help move your plans forward. By exchanging ideas and working alongside others, you may discover opportunities that would have been difficult to create on your own.
Lunar Eclipse in Pisces – August 27th
What makes your heart feel full may reach an emotional high point under this deeply feeling Pisces Lunar Eclipse and Full Moon. Occurring within your fifth sector, this eclipse could coincide with meaningful beginnings and endings involving creative projects, children, dating, hobbies, or the ways you choose to express your authentic self. While one source of fulfillment may be evolving, the North Node in your fifth sector also may leave you feeling inspired to pursue experiences that bring even greater happiness, personal purpose, and pleasure. Adding another layer to this eclipse energy, we note that it follows immediately after a Mercury Cazimi in Virgo, offering a fresh and likely useful perspective on your long-term aspirations, dreams, collaborations, or the communities you hope to build. You may find it easier to define the goals that genuinely excite you, recognize which alliances deserve your energy, or better understand where you’d like your future to lead. Uranus, squaring both the Sun and this eclipse Moon from your psychological and financial eighth sector, suggests that unexpected developments involving shared resources, trust, intimacy, or emotional vulnerability could simultaneously reshape your future plans and the ways you want to experience joy, creativity, or romance. Lastly, a Yod focused on the Sun, from Pluto, and Neptune, adds another layer to this eclipse. As your vision for the future becomes more clearly defined, changes taking place within your home life and daily routines could make it difficult to keep approaching life the way you always have. The vision you’re building may now require a different foundation — and different habits — to support them.
Sagittarius Horoscope August 2026
SAGITTARIUS (Nov 22 - Dec 21) Fire. Ruling Planet Jupiter
The beat goes on, Sagittarius, for another month of the profound evolutionary changes that the outer planet linkages of July and now August continue to indicate. As a hold-over from July, the lunation cycle from the mid-July New Moon continues to operate during the first eleven days of August, signaling that intimacy and personal evolution remain an important emotional focus, drawing you deeper into the very depths of your being, with shadows of unconscious process attempting to be resolved. To be more clear about the patterning of the three outer planets, sometimes called Barbault’s Basket, we last month found Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto, all at the 4°-degree mark of their respective signs of Gemini, Aries, and Aquarius, and triggered by your ruler, Jupiter. As we examine the configurations of August, these three consequential planets are still closely aligned, departing from exact by no more than one degree. While Jupiter is no longer closely configured with these in August, Mars at 0° Cancer still is, with Mercury at 5° Leo and Venus at 5° Libra joining in the timing of the very potent Leo New Moon and Solar Eclipse of August 12th. The remainder of the August month will likely be a thoughtful time of the examination of your beliefs and worldview in the light of a flood of new information coming at you from all sides. Your own sense of identity and creative expression continues to be affected by Neptune in your fifth sector of self-expression, which provides a sense of transpersonal idealism and a determination to take other-worldly perspectives into account as far as romantic attitudes or as you create. There are also – due to the extreme highlighted prominence of Uranus in your seventh sector of partners – surprises, unexpected events and novel realizations to be encountered as far as your relationships in general. Transformational Pluto is also featured in the eclipse configuration, and located in your third sector of communicative outreach, curiosity and learning. There is thus a concentrated focus as the month continues to unfold on how the patterns of your understanding might indeed be shifting. Since the August 12th event is an eclipse, these astrological indications may be considered to apply to the remainder of the 2026 year.

Previous New Moon in Cancer – July 14th
Something deep may be asking to begin, around intimacy, trust, or shared money. The recent Cancer New Moon from last mid-month opened this door for you, and the lunation cycle that was then initiated has eleven more days to run in the first part of August. This may be something of a revolution, surfacing where fear, vulnerability, grief, or old wounds have been steering your choices. Since Mercury retrograde occurred alongside this recent New Moon phase, the urge to fix whatever comes up fast could ease; you might instead be tracing these patterns back to where they started. This is an unusually inward cycle of timing, and heartfelt talks with the people you care for are also more than likely. Reinforcing that, Pluto lends weight and depth to how you think and speak, while Neptune brings a romantic, imaginative softness to your creativity and love life. Uranus — sitting on a key angle of your chart — could imply surprising turns or unexpected revelations regarding a significant relationship.
Sun Trine Saturn – August 4th – 8th
The more you strive for wisdom and experience, the more joy could open up for you now. As the Sun fuels your hunger for knowledge, meaning, and a bigger worldview, that uplifted, searching for more energy supports the devotion Saturn is nudging you to bring to whatever lights you up! You may commit to a beloved hobby or pursue mastering a creative modality, or perhaps a romance becomes stable yet remains exciting. You might even plan a trip that’s as well-organized as it is fun!

Mars Enters Cancer – August 11th
You may feel forced to address uncomfortable financial or emotional matters as Mars enters your eighth sector of shared resources, trust, and transformation. Chiron, the Wounded Healer also makes his appearance and could challenge your confidence in applying what you know, encouraging you to examine whether your routines, habits, or practical skills genuinely support the future you’re trying to create. At the same time, the new Nature planet Haumea supports the birth of a healthier relationship with your internal moral compass, as well as alone time and mental health. The squares throughout this grand cross suggest that progress in one area may require adjustments in another, encouraging different parts of your life to explore better ways of working together.
Mercury Conjunct Jupiter – August 14th – 15th
Your beliefs may positively evolve as Mercury joins Jupiter in your ninth sector of wisdom, perspective, and education, inviting you to see life through a much wider lens. This auspicious influence encourages you to ask bigger questions, pursue meaningful knowledge, or ponder new philosophies through study or travel. It also supports the potential of gaining new opportunities to do just so! You could also cross paths with a teacher or mentor whose guidance leaves a lasting impression.
Sun Enters Virgo – August 22nd
Virgo Season illuminates your public self—your reputation, vocation, and career goals. You could feel increasingly ambitious, with a stronger drive to achieve and gain recognition. However, Venus opposes Saturn during the first few days of this new season, likely creating tension between the joy of friendships and the responsibilities of romance, children, or authentic expression. You may have less time and energy to invest in your long-term goals as well. During the second week of Virgo season, unanticipated developments within a relationship or business partnership could temporarily disrupt your professional plans.

Landing in your fourth sector, this eclipse may mark an important turning point involving your home, family, emotional foundations, or your relationship with the past. As one chapter begins giving way to another, the North Node in your fourth sector of home and family encourages you to continue building a life that feels more authentic, nourishing, and aligned with where you’re growing. Immediately before this lunation timing, a Mercury Cazimi in Virgo brings sharper insight into your career, public role, and long-term direction — while also offering greater understanding of your closest relationships and partnerships, as Mercury rules both your tenth and seventh sectors. You may feel increasingly certain about the path you’d like to pursue and the people you’d like to build it with. However, Uranus squares both the Sun and Mercury from your seventh sector, making unexpected developments involving partners, clients, contracts, or other important relationships capable of reshaping both your professional ambitions and your personal life. At the same time, a Yod to the Sun, from Pluto, and Neptune, adds another dimension to this eclipse. As your ambitions become more clearly defined, and perhaps take on an almost spiritual glow, changing patterns of communication and an evolving understanding of what genuinely brings your heart to life could require you to reconsider how your public life supports the future you’re ultimately trying to create.

Mercury in your opposite sign of Cancer, or your relationship sector, was in retrograde motion back then, and is still recovering, which finalizes August 7th. The big news this month is the extremely powerful New Moon and Solar Eclipse of August 12th, which has Saturn, your ruler, in aspect to both Uranus at 5° Gemini and Neptune at 4° Aries, your sectors of day-to-day habitual patterns and of home, family, and the psychological roots of your being. Mars Enters Cancer – August 11th

During Mars’ first few days in Cancer, you may be focused on expanding your horizons, even as mental distractions make it harder to concentrate. Spending time where you feel safe and supported may bring welcome peace of mind.

Occurring in your seventh sector alongside the South Node, this eclipse could encourage you to leave behind relationship dynamics, commitments, or expectations that no longer reflect the direction your life is taking. With all four angular sectors activated, events unfolding within one part of your life are likely to influence the others, making this a period of significant personal evolution and reorganization. Mars, ruler of your tenth or career sector, forms supportive aspects to Chiron, Haumea, and the North Node, suggesting that developments involving your work, health, or daily responsibilities could become the catalyst for greater confidence, personal growth, and a stronger sense of identity. During the second week of Virgo season, unforeseen developments involving your self-expression, children, or romances could disrupt shared financial plans. Although, a creative breakthrough is possible!

Taking place in your second sector, this eclipse could coincide with significant beginnings and endings involving your values, personal resources, finances, or confidence in your own abilities. While one source of stability may be changing, the North Node there encourages you to pursue opportunities that better reflect your gifts, values, and long-term growth. Just before the eclipse, a Mercury Cazimi in Virgo may have offered a clearer understanding of your emotional and financial entanglements, and how you handle crisis, rebirth or even grief. Because the Sun rules your seventh sector of partnerships, it could be that conversations, agreements, or developments involving another key person could reshape the way you think about commitment, reciprocity, or the resources — both tangible and emotional — that you’re willing to share. Uranus then squares both the Sun and Mercury from your fifth sector, suggesting that unexpected developments involving romance, children, creative pursuits, or the search for greater happiness could reshape both your financial priorities and the dynamics within your closest relationships. A Yod to the Sun, from Pluto, and Neptune, contributes another layer to this eclipse story. As your understanding of trust and vulnerability may continue to deepen, changing patterns of communication and an evolving relationship with your work, health, or daily responsibilities could make it difficult to approach resources, relationships, or self-worth in quite the same way as before.
Pisces Horoscope August 2026
PISCES (Feb 19 - Mar 20) Water. Ruling Planets Neptune, Jupiter
This is another amazing month of transformation, Pisces, to the extent that you are open to change emerging into your life. The recent month had a lot going on as well, including the mid-July Cancer New Moon that featured Uranus, your ruler Neptune, and Pluto especially, in an extended set of aspects that has provided metamorphosis as a backdrop to the current month. The recent Aquarius Full Moon, just before the August month began, provided additional internal orientation. There has been an adjustment and a transformational pressure going on in this area for quite a while, bringing a glimpse of secret layers of your psyche and an inclination to pay closer attention to these dark and hidden places deep within you. These recent lunations still color the first eleven days of the current month. Regarding the second part of August, the big news is the potent Leo New Moon Solar Eclipse of August 12th. This again features the same triumvirate of outer planets, little moved from where they were in July, and now additionally triggered by Mercury at 5° of Leo, and Venus at 5° of Libra, closely aspecting Uranus in your fourth sector of home and family, as well as Pluto. The implication is that what will continue are surprise events and unexpected revelations in terms of familial interactions. Neptune is activated in your second sector of resources, including financial assets, and your values, so that things there might be difficult to get a handle on. Because Mercury lies in your sector of habitual patterns and day-to-day events and environment, there are implications for these shifting to meet the novel demands of the fractious times. Not for nothing is it said that “May you live in interesting times” is part curse, part blessing. As things shift, it is most important, perhaps, to stay fluid. Venus in her own sign being greatly triggered now, you could find that a greater degree of intimacy with partners is something you both seek and in some ways fear. The Lunar Eclipse Full Moon near August’s end has another powerful message of change as you look toward how to manage the coming fall season. Heading into year’s end, potent transformational energies are likely to be more the norm than the exception.

Previous New Moon in Cancer – July 14th
Romance, creativity, and the things you do purely for pleasure could be making their case through the first third of August. That pull traces back to the last vestiges of the lunation cycle initiated through the Cancer New Moon from mid-July. Mercury Retrograde, also active at that time, inclines to route you through the past before you can move ahead within these areas. A passion you once set down could return, showing you part of what still lights you up. And you might even reconsider how you relate in general to joy, happiness or leisure. Since this lunation trined your sign, trusting your emotional nudges may come easily, although putting your feelings into words can be harder. Neptune lends a dreamy, possibly hazy quality around your sense of self-worth and value, while Uranus, at the base of your chart, may bring sudden emotional shifts or abrupt changes; Pluto in your sector of unconscious process and inner work invites a transformation around you in these areas, including how inner wounding may limit you or produce self-sabotage.
Sun Trine Saturn – August 4th – 8th
The consistent daily efforts you put in now could pay you back in both money and personal value! As the Sun brings your awareness to the workplace, your health habits, and routines, you might feel inspired to alter the regular to-dos you typically assume, so you can be more productive, tend to your well-being, or make yourself more efficient. A consciously improved daily life supports the maturity Saturn is asking of you around how you value yourself. Your job could also provide a steadier income at this time. A practical, self-respecting stretch!
Venus Enters Libra – August 6th
This Venusian transit may feel quite emotionally charged for you! As she travels through the realm of entanglement, psychological rebirth, and crisis within your chart, you may crave, and hopefully create, closer bonds through honesty and a recognition of your own deep desires. Discovering silver linings surrounding difficult situations you have been through in the past is also possible — even making peace with a phase of grief. Her trines to Uranus and Pluto greatly support a pleasant emotional recalibration as well as a willingness to face inner fears. But keep in mind, she also opposes Neptune; you might pool resources or receive support from others while struggling to see your worth clearly enough to know the arrangement is fair.
Mercury Enters Leo – August 9th
This could be a rewarding time to grow within your workplace, form an uplifting co-working relationship, or make exciting progress improving your health as Mercury joins Jupiter in Leo. You could also begin incorporating studying, spiritual practice or mentoring into your daily life. But at the start of Mercury in Leo, an urge to retreat or self-reflect could make it harder to accomplish tasks, also highlighting insecurities around communication or your mind’s capabilities.
Mars Enters Cancer – August 11th
Mars traveling through your fifth sector of joy and self-expression may leave you eager to create, date, or spend more time doing what genuinely makes you happy. You could be ready to cut out hobbies, relationships, or once pleasurable activities that no longer excite you. Keep in mind, during Mars’ first few days in Cancer, opportunities for emotional closeness or support from others may arise while uncertainty surrounding your personal finances or sense of security continues to unfold. Speaking openly about what’s on your mind, especially the things you are worried about, can soothe your mind!
Solar Eclipse in Leo – August 12th
The ways in which you work, serve, and manage life’s everyday demands could begin changing under the New Moon, or Solar, Eclipse in Leo. Taking place within your sixth sector alongside the South Node, this impassioned eclipse could encourage you to create situations that force you to leave behind habits, assume tasks, or even work relationships that no longer support your wellbeing. The grand cross at the center of this eclipse makes it clear that your routines, unconscious thought patterns, beliefs, and way of communicating are all influencing one another. Specifically, Mercury and Pluto in opposition could spark intense conversations, penetrating insights, or decisive moments that transform the way you approach your everyday life while also reshaping your relationship with rest, mental health, or time spent alone. With Chiron, the Wounded Healer, highlighted by the grand cross in your communication sector, you might want to beware of dogmatism, unconscious or otherwise. Because Mercury rules both your fourth and seventh sectors, potent ideas or new decisions can reshape family dynamics and the way you relate to the people closest to you. Chiron could bring about old fears you may have around speaking up or expressing your perspective more noticeably, while the new Nature planet, Haumea, supports the birth of a broader worldview, renewed curiosity, and a deeper sense of purpose. Rather than unfolding separately, these areas of life may be at odds with one another, making this a period of active pressure that calls for adjustments.
Mercury Conjunct Jupiter – August 14th – 15th
A more optimistic outlook on your everyday life may emerge as Mercury joins Jupiter in your sixth sector of work, health, and daily responsibilities. You may feel inspired to exchange ideas, learn practical skills, or seek guidance from trusted experts who encourage healthier habits and more fulfilling routines. Conversations with coworkers or healthcare professionals could also introduce helpful perspectives that make your days feel more purposeful or rewarding.
Sun Enters Virgo – August 22nd
Virgo Season illuminates others, often making your one-on-one relationships a greater priority during this time of year. You could feel increasingly invested in strengthening your partnerships and becoming more discerning about who you choose to be in relationship with. The moment this solar season begins, Venus opposes Saturn, potentially putting pressure on shared finances versus your personal resources. Around August 27th, you could feel torn between embracing how your feelings are changing and having emotional freedom versus showing up in a relationship the way the other person would like you to.
Mercury Enters Virgo – August 25th
Finding common ground within a partnership and understanding others in general may be easier than usual, while Mercury travels through Virgo. Having successful negotiations, signing fair contracts, and meeting new people that you can learn from or study with is possible. Practical solutions and clear communication usually come with Mercury in such an organized, grounded and detail-oriented sign!
Lunar Eclipse in Pisces – August 27th
A new chapter of personal growth and self-discovery could begin under this Lunar Eclipse and Full Moon in your sign. Illuminating your first sector of self, this eclipse could coincide with significant beginnings and endings involving your identity, confidence, appearance, or the direction you’d like your life to take. As one version of yourself begins giving way to another, the North Node encourages you to embrace opportunities that feel new and growth oriented. Just before the eclipse, a Mercury Cazimi in Virgo offers greater understanding within your closest relationships, making honest conversations, meaningful agreements, or important decisions easier to navigate. Because Mercury also rules your fourth sector, these developments could naturally extend into your home life, family dynamics, or emotional foundation as well. Uranus then squares both the Sun and Mercury from your fourth sector, suggesting that there could also be unforeseen developments involving your domestic or private life — simultaneously impacting your closest relationships and your evolving sense of self. The eclipse grows even more complex thanks to a Yod to the Sun, from Pluto, and Neptune. As your relationships become more clearly defined, unconscious patterns and changing questions around self-worth or personal resources could make it difficult to approach partnership in exactly the same way as you have before. The more clearly you understand yourself, the more your relationships — and what you’re willing to invest in them — might naturally begin to change.
An August End-of-Summer Continuation of Transformational Intensity
This August month represents a continuation in many ways of the powerful transformational intensity of the last one and is likely to be even more extreme. The three outer planets, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto, remain within a degree of their close sextile and trine alignments, with Uranus moving forward to 5° of Gemini, while Pluto moves back to 3° Aquarius by mid-month with Neptune doing the same by month’s end. This means that the cradle or basket pattern from July remains intact, just a degree off from the exact alignments that they occupied last month, while we have in this current month a quite potent solar eclipse that comes along on August 12th that more completely triggers it. In the lunar eclipse that follows two weeks later, on the 27th, the Sun and Moon at 4° of Virgo and Pisces have a very close aspectual connection to the ongoing basket pattern of outer planets, making this end-of-month configuration another extremely impactful eclipse event. Mercury is now recovering from its recent retrograde that took place through nearly all of the previous month. The likelihood is therefore that the question marks from July are beginning to find a better resolution during August, with necessary changes appearing on the horizon at both individual and collective levels. This might also be a good moment to look ahead toward the end of this intense 2026 year, especially because eclipse energy is said to last for the next six months, and we indeed have plenty of that.
As August begins, there is the previous Cancer New Moon from mid-July to consider, when all three outer planets were at the 4°-mark of their respective signs; this initiated the lunation cycle that is concluding over the first eleven days of the current month, with transformational revelations and activity still occurring. Mercury is also still winding down from its recent retrograde. Mercury’s post-retrograde shadow period ends on August 7th. The Aquarius Full Moon from July 29th, just before August began, was also very telling. There, the Moon was closely conjunct Pluto, and opposed to Jupiter closely conjunct the Sun, greatly emphasizing Pluto’s transformational effects just as the month begins. It might be useful to remember that the action of these outer planets in alignment with each other is to take us beyond the simplistic 3D physical world to a transpersonal place where we can begin to evaluate for ourselves how a larger picture of soul intention for our own individual path might be able to be conceived. These recent New Moon and Full Moon lunations, while confronting, additionally represent an excellent backdrop and preliminary to the even more intense energies of the two eclipses that characterize the current month.
The Leo Solar Eclipse New Moon of August 12th is an incredibly powerful configuration in terms of the interaction of personal planets Mercury, Venus, and Mars with the outer planet placements. There are also several other connections in this complex configuration that are worth noting. To begin with, Venus in Libra is opposite Neptune, and participates in a very tight grand trine in Air with Pluto in Aquarius and Uranus in Gemini. The trine implies that things might find their resolution, and yet Uranus and Pluto are the elephants in the room and in close aspect imply that there are revelations and transformations ahead. Since Venus is also semi-square the eclipse degree, she is especially impacted. In order to feel your way through to what area of your chart receives this impact, you will want to understand where the early degrees of Libra land in your natal chart – remembering also that Venus rules Libra and also Taurus. Meanwhile, Mercury at 5° Leo is also quite involved here, being opposite Pluto, trine Neptune, and partile sextile Uranus in Gemini. Mercury is also square to Chiron, the Wounded Healer, now in the first degree of Taurus. If we count the new Nature planet, Haumea, at 2° Scorpio, this is a grand cross in fixed signs. More on the Haumea effect below. Mars, also, is involved here, being at the 0°-mark of Cancer, in partile or same-degree sextile to Chiron, closely trine Haumea, square Neptune in Aries, inconjunct (quincunx) Pluto, and septile the eclipse degree. You may want to examine where Mars and Mercury land in your natal chart to explore the impact upon your own individual chart. The bottom line is that this is a very powerful New Moon, and, being an eclipse, has effects lasting for the following six months, remaining consequential over the remainder of the year.
The Lunar Eclipse in Pieces of August 27th represents another quite powerful event, especially since, at 4° Pisces with the Sun opposed, at 4° Virgo, the Sun and Moon quite closely aspect the outer planets, at 3° or 5° of their respective signs. There is in fact a yod to the Virgo Sun created from Pluto in Aquarius in sextile with Neptune in Aries, which is augmented by the opposition from the Moon. All these outer planet patterns being highlighted now ensure that things will stay confrontive and actively transformational right through to the end of the 2026 year.
As we slide into September, and the fall, and then December, two of these outer planets slip back via retrograde motion into earlier degrees of their respective signs, with Pluto stationing direct at 3° of Aquarius in mid-October, Neptune backing up to 1° of Aries, stationing direct on October 12, while Uranus heads back to 2° of Gemini, remaining in retrograde past the end of the 2026 year. While the intensity of their inter-aspects drops slightly, they all thus remain within two degrees or so of their sextile and trine arrangement over all that time. It can therefore be truly said that what we are seeing with these outer planets now, in this August month, very much sets the stage for the remainder of the year.
The factor of Haumea in the grand cross configuration of August 12th and the aspects patterns, too, of the Lunar Eclipse near month’s end can be delineated as “profound connection to Nature” as follows. My research has shown that while love of natural settings is common with highlighted Haumea in the natal chart, there is also a factor of deep purpose in relation to concepts of “natural law” including kindness, and treating others as you yourself would like to be treated, and also that it is better to tell the truth as far as that truth is known. In Pluto square Haumea, such as in the configurations of August, I have over and over seen this becoming externalized as “the actual truth of the matter coming out.” And indeed, we have been seeing this in the headlines recently, in spite of strenuous attempts on the part or politicians to prevaricate. There is a way, with strong Haumea present in these current transits, that an attitude toward the value of an inherent moral compass including civility, kindness, and truth-telling, could be inching further into the light of the dominant cultural understanding.
As we once again this month experience these intense transformational effects from prominent Pluto, coupled with highlighted Neptune, which can be transformational as well as transpersonal, and additionally signal partaking of the mystical in life, Uranus acts as the wake-up call and the messenger at times, bringing surprise revelations and intuitional information to the surface of our awareness. Uranus is perhaps best captured in the well-known Grateful Dead lines:
Once in a while we can get shown the light
In the strangest of places, if we look at it right.
All we can do, in one way, is to keep on keeping on, and yet in another way we also need to remain aware of what we are evolving toward and why it matters. This includes what we can regard as our own inner light telling us what we, in our hearts, feel is right. If we can also manage in the midst of extreme societal stress and difficulty to hang on to our faith in the universe to have our back, that may be what, in the end, really matters.
